Brief

Ibexa v5 introduced improvements across five major areas: AI, collaboration, go-to-market, hyper-personalization, and developer experience. Because much of the campaign would first appear in small formats such as blog thumbnails, social previews, and email headers, the system needed to immediately signal the v5 launch, identify the relevant pillar, and leave space for imagery that could tell a micro-story.

Challenge

The main challenge was to turn a feature-heavy software release into something visually immediate and easy to recognize. The design system also had to scale from small digital rectangles to motion assets and large-format event graphics for DMEXCO, while keeping the connection between all campaign materials clear and consistent.

Creative Concept

The campaign introduced a more saturated, expressive, and color-driven direction than Ibexa’s previous product communications. The release was framed as a constellation of distinct but connected capabilities, each represented by a dedicated visual form that worked both as a metaphor and as a recognition device.

Each pillar was associated with a specific shape:

  • Collaboration: a speech-bubble-like form suggesting dialogue and feedback.

  • Tech Dev: a bar derived from the visual language of code.

  • Go-to-market: an arrow communicating speed and agility.

  • Hyper-personalization: a flower-like form built from connected circles, suggesting multiple audiences and data points.

  • AI: a star-like symbol signalling intelligence and automation.

These shapes were used as large color fields, overlays, and graphic details layered with photography and UI, creating a flexible system where every asset could read clearly as part of the v5 campaign.

Rollout

The system adapted across several touchpoints:

  • Landing page: acted as the campaign hub, grouping content by pillar using the same color-and-shape logic.

  • Blog thumbnails: used the v5 seal, colored frames, and pillar markers to make posts instantly recognizable at small sizes.

  • Social and email: translated the tile system directly into promotional assets while preserving recognition across channels.

  • DMEXCO event applications: scaled shapes and keywords into booth graphics so the physical space felt like an extension of the campaign.

Role

Creative direction and visual system design for the v5 launch, including the landing layout, the campaign visual language, the blog thumbnail framework, and key assets for social, email, and event applications.

Why this project:

  • It turned a complex, feature-heavy release into a repeatable visual language.

  • It proved that a campaign system can stay structured while remaining bold and highly expressive.

  • It showed how one flexible framework can work from thumbnail scale to full event environments.
